Guest guest
Celia, Thanks for the info! I'm looking into the med you mentioned now. Do you take Domperidone? Can you tell me more about it? Side Effects? Thanks!
Guest guest
Dear , i have taken domperidone for many years. Formerly, I took it with propulsid (which is better) but has been taken off the market because of heart arrythmia problems (not a good idea with mito). However the domperidone works pretty well and is a real life saver for those with GP. It has a slight effect on prolactin levels. and might cause breast enlargement, milk secretion, discomfort etc. but all that is minor compared with the help it can offer your stomach. If you haven't used it it is well worth a try. By the way, I thought afterwards to say- the only reason I do take the prozac is because it has caused me to gain weight (long story about why I started it!) so my gi doc keeps me on it. The domperidone dose can be from 10-40 mgms 4 times a day, although my gi doc says 40 would cause too many side effects. I take 30 mgms, as do many other people on the pastroparesis site and find it helps alot. If you want more gastroparesis info, you can try the gastroparesis gutbusterssite, also through yahooo; G-Pact, or www.gpda.net. Hope this helps, ask any other questions you want, Celia > Celia, > > Thanks for the info! I'm looking into the med you mentioned now. Do you > take Domperidone? Can you tell me more about it?
