Guest guest
Dear FORUM, Re: /message/9925 Whther the Sunderlal Hospital is a NACO APPROVED CENTRE OR NOT WE DON'T KNOW? I am not known to the situations in other states. But the situation in Tamill nadu is entirely different. Here People are aware that the testing is free for ANC and BPL. Even the Private hospitals are having linkages with the NGOs working in that area or ICTC or the ART Centre in that region. The clients will be referred to the ICTC or the mobile team will go and take the blood samples. Through Indian Medical Association various programmes were conducted for the members and their hospital staff through the funds given by Clindon Foundation, TANSACS, APAC and Funding agencies like USAIDS, FHI, Malteser International, Alliance, YRG Care and so many other agencies and NGOs like ASI and PeaceTrust and centres of excellencies like CMC, Vellore, MMMHRC,Sri Ramachandra Medical College, etc.. Even deliveries and surgical procedures are willingly done by secondary and tertiary level hospitals sometimes using kits supplied by Tansacs. In the Government hospitals also situations are changing a lot. Here also there are incidents like stigma, discrimination, testing without counselling, improper disclosure, not importing knowledge to the PLHIV and their family, no prophylaxis, irrelevant starting, improper and inadequat dosing and so many. But they are all of more on the treatment aspect.Counselling is improving as most of them are realising the need and do it because of good net working and the quality traing they get. Guest guest
Dear Dr.Anburajan Re: /message/9925 You have mentioned everything in Tamil Nadu including the least contributing to the services available to people. But you have forget to mention the involvement of the communities more importantly people living with HIV/AIDS and their organisations in the HIV prevention, care, support and treatment services. Without the involvment of people living with HIV/AIDS none of the services will be successful. Dear Furum members kindly acknowledge the communities involvement in your postings. yours in solidarity Rama Pandian Tamilnad Network of Positive People( TNP+) ( Registered in 1995) The Pioneer in PLHA Network in India 70/269, Labour Colony Guindy, Chennai- 600 032. Guest guest
Dear FORUM, Re: /message/9925 Let me thank Mr. RAMAPANDIAN very much for reminding and empazising the greater involvement of PLHIV in TN in the fight against HIV. Ofcourse it is very much real that the Forums of PLHIV, the positive speakers , etc are contributing a lot. Nobody can forget the role of NGOs who empowered the PLHIV to this level by giving them opertunities in all cadres according to their ability and sometimes if they are little less, encouranging them to achieve so that they are benefited. In PEACE TRUST nearly 45% are PLHIV in the present 4 projects.I know it is true with most of the NGOs in TN. Once thanks to RAMAPANDIAN.
