Guest guest
Are there any mito-competent facilities or doctors in Kansas? My mother and I have been diagnosed with probable mitochondrial disease for several years, and have only recently gained the resources to actively seek lab diagnosis and treatment. Tonight my mom suffered a prolonged ischemic migraine with stroke-like seizure and tremoring, one of several such episodes over the past few weeks from which she has been revived by CoQ-10. We had a phone consultation with Dr. Lawrence Leichtman, a geneticist specializing in rare diseases with the Genetics and Disabilities Diagnostic Care Center in Virginia, and he recomended MTDNA encephalopathy prophile on both of us. Local small-town docs are no help on this, and she needs help ASAP. Can anyone recommend a facility in KS capable of dealing competently with mito patients and that would accept her Medicare/Medicaid insurance? Many Thanks in Advance, Adam Messinger P.S. What is a cheap, fast, reputable source for more CoQ-10.
