Guest guest
, It is possible to have inaccurate blood test results (a false negative), but still have Lyme disease. This is why a Lyme-literate MD diagnoses Lyme disease based on clinical presentation in conjunction with the blood test. Antibiotics could initially make a patient feel physically worse (a Herxheimer reaction), which could confirm a Lyme infection. Guest guest
Hi , I had an Igenex test done for Lyme back in 2008 and had bands that were indeterminate. My regular doctor did not know how to read the test results and said I was negative for Lyme. I kept having flare ups of my illness and a couple of times wound up in the hospital. I kept looking for answers and decided to go to a LLMD in 2010 ( He is also one of the more famous Lyme doctors:)) You can have indeterminates and one positive band and have Lyme disease. Lyme hides very well in the body > hi this is keith, 55 year old male with SPMS. getting worse all the time. had a > lyme test done last year by a lyme literate dr. one of the most famous in the > midwest. don't want to say his name, don't want to get him in trouble, just in > case. > > I had the Lyme IgG western blot test done. all my bands from 18 kDa to 93 kDa > were negative except band 41 kDa was ++, band 31 was indefinite. > He still thought I had lyme and wanted to start treating me with antibiotics, > supplements, etc. but he is more than 1 days drive away from me, and it would be > hard to see him on a regular basis. > has any else been diagnosed with only one positive band ?
