It is possible to have inaccurate blood test results (a false negative), but

still have Lyme disease. This is why a Lyme-literate MD diagnoses Lyme disease

based on clinical presentation in conjunction with the blood test. Antibiotics

could initially make a patient feel physically worse (a Herxheimer reaction),

which could confirm a Lyme infection.

Hi ,

I had an Igenex test done for Lyme back in 2008 and had bands that were

indeterminate. My regular doctor did not know how to read the test results and

said I was negative for Lyme. I kept having flare ups of my illness and a couple

of times wound up in the hospital. I kept looking for answers and decided to go

to a LLMD in 2010 ( He is also one of the more famous Lyme doctors:)) You can

have indeterminates and one positive band and have Lyme disease. Lyme hides very

well in the body
