Advice for the day: If you have a lot of tension and you get a headache, do

what it says on the aspirin bottle: Take two and keep away from children.

Steph,

I'm nearly 4 months out and my scar is still sore. I get random twinges of

pain sometimes, but nothing major. I think it just takes longer than Dr.

Thayer says. I've been told to rub the scar, too, to break up the hard tissue

underneath, so I do that alot. Also, I think vitamin E oil is helping it heal.

Steph,

Personally I'd avoid the sun and your incision right now, to avoid risking

burning it which would KILL!

Re: SUN ON YOUR SCAR?

Hi all! Just wondering what the consensus is about exposing your scar to

the

sun. I want to go to the beach and wear my thong-NOT! I've heard that

tanning the scar might make it show less and other opinions that it will

" burn " it into your skin even more. Also, at almost 9 weeks out, my

incision

is still a bit sore. Did that happen to anyone else? It could be that

since

I've been back to work, I've been lifting lots of HEFTY toddlers. I work

with one little girl who weights 40 lbs at 18 months-OUCH!

Alice,

Not having gone through the surgery YET, but really almost ready to sign

on the dotted line, I would think that you have the right attitude - " it (the

scar)

reminds me of all I've been through, and how much better I am now " . Last

night and this morning, my husband is getting more enthused for me. He wants

to go to the Sept. meeting at NWH and hear people talk. He is getting into

things. So far we have not told anyone about this, not even my daughter (24).

Thanks for telling me about the scar. Sally
