Guest guest Posted February 19, 2009 Report Share Posted February 19, 2009 Opportunity to head Indian Operations of an International Health Organization- Delhi Job Title: India Country Representative for an International Organization Job Type: Full-time Location: New Delhi, India Excellent Salary package will be offered to attract the best talent in India JOB SUMMARY: The Country Representative (CR) assumes full responsibility for planning, directing, and managing all aspects of the country office and program and donor relations. The CR will have overall responsibility to formulate and meet strategic objectives. The CR will actively seek new funding opportunities in country. RESPONSIBILITIES: Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates new and ongoing projects; identifies and assesses new projects and grantees for potential funding by it; reviews project proposals and assists potential grantees with preparation of project applications; monitors all funded projects in country and provides or arranges technical assistance to grantees. Develops and maintains working relationships with government and non-government institutions, including representatives from foundations, USAID, and other bilateral and multilateral donors. Actively seeks new funding opportunities in India working closely with Headquarters Programs and Resource Development Departments keeping them appraised of all program and funding opportunities. Represents it, as appropriate, at meetings, conferences and official functions. Responsible for the formulation of strategic objectives and the effective implementation of project mandated deliverables. Ensures overall quality and timeliness of technical interventions. Undertakes frequent travel within country for the development of new projects, monitoring of ongoing projects, and for initiating and/or renewing contacts with relevant parties; travels internationally as required. Collaborates with the Deputy CR to manage, recruit, train and supervise staff. Prepares annual office budget. Supervises country office Finance and Administration function. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Ten plus years of development experience, with at least five years in India preferred. MPH or related advanced degree. International experience in reproductive health and family planning field, preferably with programs in Asia/ India. Previous experience in project planning, implementation and evaluation. Experience in preparing budgets. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and local languages. Strong interest and commitment to family planning, population and related issues.
