Guest guest
Hi All, It's been a while since I've posted as I've had conflicting opinions from doctors on my sons diagnosis, or lack there of. He has been doing very well. His last problems were following his tonsilectomy in Oct. 1999. (dehydration, LOW blood sugar 40 and potassium.) Since he's had pneumonia and some colds that he has managed quite well. He has for the last month been running an unexplained temerature with only cold symptoms, so his doctor ordered some blood tests and some immune blood tests also. Last week he got strep on his bottom that just wouldn't clear up. Yesterday I recieved a call from his doctor saying he recieved his blood test results and that he has Mono! What a surprise! Has anyone elses child had Mono? He is only 21 mths old, I've never heard of a toddler having Mono. I'm just wondering if I shoud call his Geneticist? Is there anything test wise we should be doing right now? Anyone with any info? It would very much be appreciated. (He has had elevated Lacitic acid and pyruvate from birth. Present lately only with illness.) Thanks for listening to my rambling, Barbara mom to 6, Max 3, reflux and possible apraxia and Corbin 21 mths, possible mito, reflux, asthma, oral motor and motor planning dyspraxia, encephalopathy of unknown origin and now has Mono, but doing extremely well. Happy and VERY active. Becoming more verbal!
