Guest guest
Dear FORUM, Re: /message/9177 Firstly, let me Salute AHF for providing 2nd line treatment uninterrupted to our people. We appreciate the support from them. I did met few of the members of AHF and was happy to know their committment in support People Living with HIV/AIDS. Yes, it is indeed a concern for all of us. The 2nd line programme has been started at JJ Hospital in Mumbai and it is understood that only few of them have been enrolled and been provided the same. Even to us it was informed that the adherence is being looked out. As an organisation working on these issues we should intiate a process whereby we ensure to the government that we will ensure adherence in our people and please continue providing the same and upscale in a rapid way. It is very clear from Dr. Rewari that even government is concerned of the same and we do agree that it is indeed an indicator for the government to ensure that enough % of adherence is found on the free medication being provided. The Government was quite confident and have assured people living with HIV/AIDS and marginalised communities of continued support. You will be happy to note that even Dr. Sujata Rao said that they will look into supporting MSM Living with HIV/AIDS upon my question of non-inclusion of MSMPLHA in NACP III. The government seems promising and let us ensure that this two way process of friendship (Government and Civil Society) strengthens further and we keep providing suggestions which best suits our people in improving their quality of life. Thanks again for your posting. Regards, Vijay Nair President - Network of Indian People with Alternate Sexualities Living with HIV/AIDS (NIPASHA+) E-MAIL: nipasha@...
