Glad I could provide the " nudge " !! LOL Honestly, it has done wonders for me

in how I feel about myself and my body...it just feels " right " to me. Now my

77 yr old Mom (who lives with us) wants to try to do the tapes with me! I

think it would be great for her circulation and balance. I bought a foam mat

that is made to go under a sleeping bag to use as my yoga mat and I bought

one of those swimming " noodles " and cut it into various lengths to use as

" blocks " for poses that I can't quite reach and need a little extra support

to hold and maintain the position.

I wish I had known about yoga when I was in hyper-hell, I think it would have

helped calm me down.

Namaste,

Doris

Namaste K9!

Your enthusiasm is just what I need to hear to prod me to get the

old practice up and running again. You sound just like me when I am

talking about yoga! It is wonderfully unifying for body mind and

spirit. I love the relaxation pose and the opportunity to clear one's

head. Also a great time for healing imagery and thoughts. My practice

and peace was shattered when about 2 years ago when my daughter

returned here to live with me. She is suffering from intense rages,

and since her husband is out of the picture, they are always focused

at me. I am just now figuring out that she has probably got GD, as do

I. Anyway, I let that disrupt me to the point that I let the yoga

practice go. Probably when I needed it most, too. She is still here

but i need to recreate the mind it takes for me to have that in my

life.

Have you tried any of Rodney Yee's tapes? Great! Their whole

series of tapes is great. I wish there was more on the relaxation

pose, but they do have a bit. Especially the Relatation tape with

Walden. He also has audio tapes for breathing, which he says

are about 1/3 of his yoga practice. And did anyone catch him on Oprah

the other day?

Thanks for the nudge!

Doris,

Yes, It is good for hyperactivity of any kind! I am glad your Mom

is interested. Have you got the catalogue from Living Arts? They have

lots of different kinds of tapes, and maybe something just right for

your Mom. I tried to get my Mom (79) interested but no luck. On the

beginning of your yoga tape there is a phone number. You can get a

free catalogue. I would recommend that you do. They also have a

groovy magazine, Yoga Journal.

Thanks Doris,

I have really been sluffing the last few weeks and needed that

motivation...Dividing my workout into two session should make it more

feasible with my weird schedule.

Dear Jody,

The above is from the page online for ordering the catalogue from

Living Arts, the guys with the best yoga tapes. I think you can order

online, too if you want. This page has more than one catalogue

offered. You want the Living Arts one.

May I suggest Walden's Yoga for Beginners? She is very

good and the tape teaches a lot of poses!

Good luck!

Glad I could be of service Elaine, as you're articles have helped me

many times!

When my initial enthusiasm wears off you and can repay me by

giving me a swift kick in the rear back to my yoga mat!!
