Guest guest
A few weeks back there was a brief discussion on use of reishi and cordyceps to help in MS. I found some literature I copied from years ago where the holistic doctor feels infections are a major factor in MS and he recommends teh following mushrooms to fight bacterial and viral infections: Coriolus, Maitake, Olive Leaf, Reishi, Hyssop, Soma Latha, Wild yew (taxol), and sutherlandia. There is a lot more to the protocol. I only have a hard copy and it is too much to copy on line. He talks about oxidative stress, excitotoxity, heavy metals and dental revisions, and he says we also need phospphatidylcholine, phosphatidyslerine, phosphatidylinositol, and phosphatidylethanolamine in order to reverse cell membrane permeability. Other major things he feels we need are of course a very clean nurtious diet and recommends ALA, DHLA, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, CoQ10. Basically I think he is saying that one must do all these other things to stay stable and rebuild while the main healing in his opinion is from the killing of the infections. This was all written by a man with a doctorate in nutrition named J. Marshall who also has a radio show. The document is called " the overlooked role of chornic infection in neurodegeneration and its reversal using nutraceutical agents. " I haven't done the protocol because I was burned out on supplements and there are so many supplements involved in his protocol, but I thought I'd pass this on anyway because of the recent discussion about mushrooms. Guest guest
Just as a note, the therapeutic dosage of ALA per CCSVI in MS on Facebook is 600 mg. > Other major things he feels we need are of course a very clean nurtious diet and recommends ALA, DHLA, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, CoQ10. > > > Zoe >
Guest guest
Hi Charmoon, thanks for the correction. I was quickly typing from the document, so I probably did not transpose it correctly. I think his point was about fighting infections and he was naming both mushrooms and other anti-infection agents. Thanks for the correction. zoe ________________________________ To: " mscured " <mscured > Sent: Tue, June 7, 2011 8:38:26 PM Subject: Mushrooms in healing infections For the sake of accuracy, I would like to point out that on the list of 10 " mushrooms " from the posting below, only three of them are actually mushrooms. The rest of these items are herbs. The three mushrooms are Coriolis, Maitake, and Reishi. Charmoon A few weeks back there was a brief discussion on use of reishi and cordyceps to help in MS. Guest guest
Aren't there concerns from Cutler about such large doses of ALA? Has anyone has a problem with large doses of ALA? Guest guest
Maitake and Reishi are found in the USA. Maitake found at the base of old oaks, http://americanmushrooms.com/edibles1.htm Reishi are found on Maple and Hemlock (2 different kinds, similar properties) http://mushroom-collecting.com/ganodermagallery.html The Coriolis is the old name for Turkey tail no wonder I didnt recognize the name : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ Trametes_versicolor probably meant to throw off the folks that know turkey tail grows in outrageous abundance also in the north east and probably the rest of the wooded part of the country. All can be picked wild and made into tea. the Miatake is a fine edible. I have a bunch dried,it grows in the fall, sometimes LOTs of it! http://americanmushrooms.com/medicinals.htm > For the sake of accuracy, I would like to point out that on the > list of 10 " mushrooms " from the posting below, only three of them > are actually mushrooms. Guest guest
You're right Jo. I found it on google, but it has been updated since the version I had with a whole section about infections taken out of the first few pages. Here is the new version if anyone is interested: http://www.drheise.com/ResourcePDFs/Neurodegeneration.pdf ________________________________ To: mscured Sent: Wed, June 8, 2011 11:24:16 PM Subject: Re: Mushrooms in healing infections J.
