Guest guest
Hi Donna, Plasma transfer is used because the plasma from a normal patient helps to lower the immune system in a patient going through a relapse. Its quick. He is probably showing signs of a very high immune system right now. It isn't done very often, although I think they should. It is also done for patients with very low immune systems, to help boost their immune system to fight whatever is ailing them. > > So my husband is in the hospital with another relapse. Guest guest
We did find out it was a relapse. The spinal lessions were active and for lack of a better word growing. I spoke with the Neuro yesterday and he was knoweldgeable about the Plasma Exchange treatment therapy. He would like to keep my husband on pharmasuticals for now but is working with me to research other non-conventional ways to treat this. For now DH is suppose to take Vitamine D (I think it's like 1000 mg a day. i have to look). In the last 1 1/2 months we have had alot of high stress things going on. A move (that was suppose to be good but as it turns out... we'll see). Then I was in the hospital for hemipaligic migrain again. Those are like a stroke except there is no damage done at the time. Over time we are sure there will be damage done though. So questions would be.... Does anyone know if CoQ-10 would be good for DH. It is suppose to help with Neurological issues according to the neuro. I've been prescribed it as a preventative for migrains. And I've also been prescribed Magnisum. (both of these are bought over the counter so the big thing is would they help him). DH has left sided weakness to the point he is unable to currently use the left arm or hand and the left leg is getting weaker. He still has the foot droop that has never gone away. I'm just wondering if there is more I can do. LDN will be something we further discuss when we have him more stable from this hospital stay. Also he is a diabetic so steroids play havic with his glucose it's not something we want him to stay on for long periods. Yesterday they gave him 1000 mg of sodiumedrol in the hospital and his glucose was 568 (for any who do not know your glucose should be under 127 to be normal and that's after eating!) thanks for any ideals Donna in SC (was VA) " Stress is the confusion created when one's mind overrides the body's basic desire to choke the living daylights out of some jerk who desperately deserves it.
