Guest guest
Guar Gum is a stablizer/filler used in all sorts of commercial foods. You can get it at your health food store. I use it in my homemade berry jam recipe, but must use it very sparingly. It has a taste that I don't particularly care for. Xanthium Gum is a possible substitute. What are you going to use it in? Guest guest
What is this stuff, and are there any substitutions? I have a recipe I'd like to try. TIA, Beth in TX
Guest guest
Thanks Jan. The page I found said use corn starch as a substitute. The recipe is for the cracker-y snacks w/ psyllium husks and flax seeds. It called for 1/2 tsp. Beth in TX Jan wrote: <<must use it very sparingly.
