Guest guest
Hi everyone. I likely have met some of you if you are on the hyperthyroid list. I find that everyone I have met across these discussion lists are truly appreciated sources of support. I saw my endo today. He is the 2nd one I have had since I was diagnosed with hypert and Graves at the end of this February. He hit me with something AGAIN today but now the time line is ticking. He prefers and has continued to push RAI on me. He has prescribed PTU for me because of my reluctance to do this. He reminded me today that he prefers that patients only stay on this for 3 months and then have the RAI. I told him this would NOT be my case. Next week I have an appointment with yet a 3rd endo. He's one of those who is also a researcher and professor and a university. My idea is to let this 3rd one know from the get go of the first (maybe last) appointment, that I want someone who will monitor me as I stay on PTU, which IS changing my blood tests results every 2 weeks for the better, for at LEAST 18 to 24 months. I want to be satisfied that just ATDs will or will not put me into remission. And if he won't do this, then I will seek another and another endo until I find one. I thought I made this clear with the guy who I am currently seeing but after today, apparently not. I'm seeking ideas for any planning WHAT I might need to do until I find that endo who will help me do things my way until they are proven to fail. Thanks for your thoughts.
