Guest guest
Without a doubt, d-mannose is the most effective, it usually clears even a full blown infection in 3 days. > What to people use that works? Guest guest
Lynne - You can try parsley tea.....a handful of fresh (organic) parsley, or a Tablespoon of dried. Boil 2 cups spring water, add parsley, turn off flame, cover and steep 15 minutes. Actually quite refreshing. A simple Ayurvedic remedy is tea of coriander and fennel seeds. Add what you can find: spearmint, marshmallow root, organic rose buds, pinch turmeric. Put pinches in a thermos, boil water, add to thermos, let steep 15 minutes and sip throughout day til 4pm. If you get them chronically, invest in ordering Ayurvedic herbs: Gokshura and Punarnava. Gotu kola, sandalwood are great too. Stay away from: alcohol, nightshades (potatoes, tomatoes, eggplant, green peppers), coffee, soda and hot spices. Coconut and pomegranate juices are good. The homeopathic remedy Cantharsis can knock out a cystitis attack. Work on your gut health, I like Natren probiotic...and watch out for onions and garlic while on them...their sulpher/antibiotic action will dive bomb your friendly bacteria. Hope something in here helps! > > What to people use that works? I would prefer not to use an antibiotic. > > Lynne > B.C. Guest guest
, I have been doing some research on the d-mannose and I am going to try it. Do you have any dosage suggestions? Guest guest
I am very prone to urinary tract infections. I've found that d-mannose powder works extremely well. I now start taking it at the first sign of an infection. I also take cran-rich capsules, but that's just extra insurance. I will also try to drink a lot more obviously. I'm also interested in other people's answers. Ann Sent from my iPad > What to people use that works? I would prefer not to use an antibiotic. > > Lynne > B.C. Guest guest
Thanks ...lots of great information. You have my interest with your statement re: probiotics and garlic/onions. I really like both....what to do. Dr. Whals even suggest we need more sulpher. Lynne On Sat, Jan 28, 2012 at 2:32 PM, ayurbalance14 wrote: > attack. Guest guest
I have never had (knowingly) a UTI. However when my incontinence seems worse I have used D-Mannose for a week and things get back on track.D-Mannose is what people overwhelmingly use for UTIs.Janet To: mscured ; MS-Diet From: lynneandress@... Guest guest
Cranberry capsules, d-mannose powder, and watch your sugar intake. Bacteria grows on sugar. Guest guest
I've cleared up infections with pure cranberry juice (not the cocktail, as it has sugar. The kind I buy is only cranberry, not mixed with other juices, and it is concentrated so you have to mix it with water. I drink 4-5 glasses of this cranberry/water mixture a day, as well as lots and lots of water, as much as I can stand. I try to drink enough that I have to pee every hour at least. And don't hold it; go to the bathroom as soon as you have the urge. The longer urine is in your bladder, the more opportunity bacteria have to grow. The cranberry keeps the bacteria from clinging to the bladder and the extra water flushes it out. I usually keep this up for a few days or until a couple of days after symptoms subside. Also, don't consume any sugar, try to even keep carbs to a minimum until symptoms subside, as the sugars give the bacteria something to feed on. I've cured many UTI's by using this method. Guest guest
I forgot to mention in my last post. My wife is totally bed ridden last 15 years(end stage MS). I only give her as little as 20ml of pure (not from concentrate) pomegranite juice every few days. she has no UTI's since taking that small amount. its extremly powerful in stopping and preventing UTI's and here it's only about $7.00 per bottle 1 ltr/1000ml. russ > > What to people use that works?
