Guest guest
Dear moderator, I am a student of public policy (2nd yr student, course - Master of Public Policy, institute - ICFAI School of Public Policy) have gone through most of the mail those I've received in my e-mail inbox. I have been a member of this group since May, 2008. While going through those mails I got a lot of information regarding HIV/AIDS and related issues from the nuke and corners in my country. I am really glad to say that the group developed my knowledge and insights and forsights about HIV/AIDS and related issues. Those informations helped me to develop a good internship report during my course curriculum. The point here I want to say is to open a websites/brochure for a systematic and ceherence information regarding HIV/AIDS. The reasons-- The informations in the NACO website are very old that may not relevant for current policy research on HIV/AIDS. Most SACS have no website (so far I know). Only we know any information from SACS through mail and even those informations are not up-to-date ( during my internship period I tallied the information from OSACS and information from news paper were not matching). Many studies have been conducted by different organizations but there is no common website in which they could put their information and so that we could have got systematic and up-to-date information for further policy research. While any organization put their study in the common website we could come accross a debate if any mismatch seen in the different report from different organizations. We could come accross what parameter they have followed in their study. We are getting scattered information through this forum and are getting some more informations from different medias those we could have put in the common website and if anything wrong in those information could be resolved by moderator (my intention here is to say that correct information leads to correct policy and so problems may be resolved in a time bound targetted manner. There is a saying " Failing to plan means planning to fail " and information has a pivotal role) The vission and mission of the forum is not only know the informatiom but also purcolate these informations to the common people that the community which is the receiving end will be getting benefitted. Therefore, my humble suggestion is to frame a brochure that will content different sections for e.g. prevelence rate ( even that section can be made subsection on the basis of regionwise), region specific causes and consequences, region specific facilities from government and from NGOs etc and so on and so forth so that it will be a good input for policy research and implimentation on HIV/AIDS.
