Guest guest
Greetings and good show! I discovered Dr. Wahls' video and diet too. I've been working on the diet changes for my SPMS for a year now; so it does take some time. But don't worry, just take it in small steps; like loosing the gluten breads by finding gluten free breads. Stop the beans/legumes, no soy (watch the supplements because they put soy in so many things). I just recently converted to whole food vitamins/minerals, and trying to get the CoQ10 (in ubiquinol form), and krill oil in small enough pills to actually swallow! Those darn 500mg krill oil pills get stuck in my throat.. then finally go down. Dr. Wahls said that we should eat some grass-fed meats and fish. Since I'm a veggie, I heard her mention taking Creatine, and L-Carnitine (found in meat) supplements. Since we are all so deficient in sulfur, trying to find sulfur-rich foods is a challenge. I've been trying for a long time to find out if MSM will adequately supplement sulfur, or do we have to buy the really expensive Organic Sulfur Crystals (obtained from pine tree bark)? Dr. Wahls also mentioned kelp and seaweed, rich in iodine, and I found that online too. So you see, slowly it comes together. Sure hope you continue on with your diet and can find all this stuff eventually. Mike
