Guest guest Posted July 28, 2008 Report Share Posted July 28, 2008 I-TECH INDIA PROJECT SHORT-TERM LEAVE VACANCY - CLINICAL TRAINING COORDINATOR Organization Description: The International Training and Education Center on HIV (I-TECH) is a federally-funded project which supports the development of HIV/AIDS care and treatment training initiatives in 25 resource-limited countries acutely impacted by the global AIDS epidemic. I-TECH currently supports 10 international offices and approximately 350 international and domestic staff. In India, I-TECH is registered in the name of AroGyaan as a society, under the Tamilnadu Societies Registration Act, and the project is described as I-TECH India Project. Position Description: I-TECH seeks a CLINICAL TRAINING COORDINATOR on a short-term leave vacancy for four months, which may get extended based on the need of the organization and the performance of the individual Responsibilities: The Clinical Training Co-ordinator will co-ordinate I-TECH in HIV Fellowship Clinical Training Programme, and NACO trainings in the following ways: Duties: Together with Medical Director and I-TECH Clinical Team develop overall training plan & curriculum. Provide administrative support to the HIV Fellowship Training Program Prepare Monthly schedule, Clinical rotation postings and other documents related to the program Consolidate the M & E report of Fellowship programme. Design & develop recruitment plan & recruit new Fellows by revising the Fellowship marketing materials, designing advertisement, circulation of brochures to journal & electronic forum & circulars to government & private medical institutions. Develop Monthly & Quarterly report in co-ordination with Fellowship team. Maintain good rapport with clinical and external resource faculty members by sending invitation letters, asking teaching methodology, providing curriculum for better preparation, continuous follow-up over phone and ensuring smooth logistics arrangement for the session. Ensure the following information to the resource faculty: Fellowship Programme summary / background/purpose/structure Summary of Fellowship Programme Curriculum send a summary of past and future sessions so resource faculty will have the full context of the session. Description of Fellows background/interest. Final slide set should be reviewed by clinician and put on I-TECH ppt. template. To sit the session for the first & last 15 minutes and discuss with the resource faculty to learn what they found useful, difficult, would like to change about the slides/session. Write down the feedback and integrate it into the revision of the slides. Document the didactic sessions of all the resource persons including the power point slides, notes, reference articles for the reference of Fellows. Receive a biographical description on each resource faculty and introduce the resource faculty before the start of the session. Communicate the important updates on accomplishments to Fellowship stakeholders Liaise & co-ordinate with Fellows to communicate about day-to-day activities of Fellowship and work in recruitment / marketing of Fellowship Programme. Convene weekly meetings with Fellowship Programme team to review the updates / issues. Develop & design brochure, newsletter and write-ups about Fellowship Programme. Assist in organizing the Symposium/ workshop on HIV/AIDS topics monthly inviting local resource faculty. Assist in posting the presentations of all the clinical society meetings in the website of the Government Hospital of Thoracic Medicine, Chennai (GHTM) Assist in publishing articles of the Fellowship Programme in the monthly/ quarterly news letters of I-TECH/AroGyaan, GHTM and e-forums. Facilitate the convening of a reunion/HIV refresher/update every year for the graduated fellows. Coordinate the activities of the Inauguration & Valedictory of each batch HIV Fellowship Programme. Assist in organizing exposure visits for Fellows to various community-based non-governmental organizations in and around Chennai & high prevalence states. NACO Training Activities: Assist in providing support to Logistics Training Co-ordinator, GHTM in organizing the NACO Specialists and Medical Doctors Training Programme. Qualifications: Postgraduate, Preferably Masters in Social Work with one or two years experience. Good language, writing and documenting skills and strong knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint. HIV/AIDS knowledge/experience preferred. Sensitive in communication with senior medical consultants, resource persons and other stakeholders. Prior experience in coordinating training programmes will be an added advantage.
