Guest guest
Hello aasawyer@... (Alice A Sawyer), In reference to your comment: è Would love to hear from others what they are using and è the cost effectiveness of their printers too. I have a Canon Multipass (inkjet) all in one... fax, printer, scanner, etc. I get the ink cartridges for it at Walmart and I'm pretty sure the black and white one is about $20. Of course the color cartridges are more, but I don't use them as much. I've found that at computer shows, one can often find dealers who sell printer cartridges at a reduced rate. Just my $0.02. Guest guest
Hello aasawyer@... (Alice A Sawyer), In reference to your comment: è Problem is my computer guru will not touch my è computer if I have AOL or Canon. Sounds to me like your computer guru's " weakest links " are AOL and Canon. I personally have never had any problems with my Canon printer. My oldest daughter also has a Canon printer and has had no problems whatsoever, which is why I ended up getting a Canon. On my old 486 computer I had an HP Deskjet and it still works... My husband uses it now and then. Jan " Typing is my life " (said sarcastically) Remember... WSTPMTR (which means, whoever signs the paycheck makes the rules). Guest guest
I have been transcribing for the podiatrist since July 12. I had put in a new ink cartridge just a few days prior to this. I transcribe approximately 6-8 pages per tape and from 2-3 tapes per week. It seems to be I should not have to have a change in the printer cartridge already. How often do you guys have to change your cartridge. I am considering taking advantage of the Labor day sales and purchase a new printer. The cartridges are up to $27.00 each but I usually buy a packet of 2 which runs up to $45.00. There is an HP on sale at Staples for $149. It is HP 940 but I don't know what the cartridge would be. There is also a computer expo going on this weekend that I might look into. Just polling. Thanks. Aliceanne
Guest guest
I have a HP deskjet 690. I just got off the phone with staples and that printer they have on sale for 149. has black cartridge for 30.00 and color was 32+. I like dealing with HP but I just may have to look at something else. Would love to hear from others what they are using and the cost effectiveness of their printers too. Thanks for your input. Guest guest
Interesting. Problem is my computer guru will not touch my computer if I have AOL or Canon. He just does not like dealing with either. Good idea though to go to Walmart. It is quite a distance away. What I think I will do is get one more cartridge and see the result, keeping real tight watch on it. Then decide for Veterans day sale if I really need it. Thanks. Guest guest
Aliceanne, Maybe you want to try www.inkdoctor.com . I started buying my ink cartridges there about a month ago. The last time I bought a color cartridge and a black cartridge, the total for both of those plus a few odd dollars for shipping was around $27.00. Normally when I buy my cartridges at BestBuy or OfficeMax the same combo was well over $50.00. They also carry the ink cartridge refill kits at an 80% savings. I haven't tried those yet but I'm seriously thinking about it. Has anyone tried the ink cartridge refill kits? : )~ -- Printer Question I have been transcribing for the podiatrist since July 12. Guest guest
Which makes sense. I have more or less decided to get another ink cartridge and keep better tract of what I use for work and what I use for play. I just never did that. If I decide in November that I do indeed need a new one, I will look into the Veterans day sales. Thanks. Guest guest
I've tried the refill ink cartridges and they run too much on the doctor's letterheads. They are okay on the plain white paper but I do a lot of consults and letters so they're out for me. I buy my ink cartridges at Costco and they are little cheaper than at Office Depot. I have Epson Stylus and Xerox Workcenter M940 printers. Aliceanne, Maybe you want to try www.inkdoctor.com . I started buying my ink cartridges there about a month ago.
