Guest guest
This is my personal favorite b-complex: http://www.sourcenaturals.com/products/GP1327/ I believe that there are two reasons why it is great: (1) it's a sublingual one, therefore fasting acting, just put under your tongue (2) it contains nicotinamide which has shown potential benefit in treating EAE in mice and remyelinating (I think it was the Boston Children's Hospital that did the research) For me, it's like " whoosh " and I feel immediate sense of healing and protection in the brain. This is my " go-to " supplement that I'd take if I could only take one with me on a desert island. SINCE I HAVEN'T POSTED IN A WHILE HERE IS MY UPDATE I am stil doing great. I take this B-Complex, low dose of DHEA (5 to 10 mg), SAM-e (100 mg a day-NOW brand), Selenium, Padma Basic, and Copaxone. FYI . . . I used to take ALA (Alpha Lipoic Acid) and R-LA (R-Lipoic Acid) and had great benefit from these. I used to swap out the Padma with the ALA in my regime for like six months or a year at a time (since both thin the blood I didn't want to take at the same time). But I stopped with the ALA (go to Padma exclusively now) because the ALA seemed to possibly cause or exacerbate prostatitis in me after years of high dosage use (had pain in my perenium and clogged lymph node in my penis-yeah, fun! Haha. No worries, just massage it out). Perhaps, that is even part of how ALA works? Gently clogging lymph? I have no clue. (At first I thought DHEA had to be the culprit but nope the ALA was the one that when I went off it caused the prostatitis to disappear.) Please don't flame me in defense of ALA . . . Just what happened to me . . . but I am still a big fan and advocate of ALA for MS. It may be that my experience was only due to the exact mix of vitamins/herbs or my own body chemistry. But there are few reports of side effects from ALA so I think it's worth my mentioning here in case anyone else were to suffer a similar related health issue at high dosage (300-900 mg a day) over long term (3-5 years) of usage?
