Guest guest Posted February 20, 2009 Report Share Posted February 20, 2009 A Position is vacant at Snehadaan - Bangalore , Community Care Centres (CCCs) run by Sneha Charitable Trust, a Faith Based Organisation (FBO) pioneer in HIV/AIDS care, support and treatment. It is supported by USAID funded Samastha project. It is also a referral level CCC and a learning site under USAID-samastha Project implemented by KHPT. This is a call to motivated professional to respond to the challenges paused by the HIV/AIDS pandemic to PLHIV. This is an initiative to address the multifaceted needs of PLHIV in a comprehensive way. The Position: Counsellor - Psychosocial Intervention Responsibilities & tasks Responsible to address the psychosocial needs of the PLHIV, Provide treatment education to caregivers, CLHIV and their family members to live a positive life Provide pre and post test counseling, follow up counseling, psychosocial counselling, family counseling, group counseling, child counseling, ART, ATT and other drug adherence counselling, nutritional counselling, etc. Educate PLHIV and family members of prevention interventions linked with care and treatment Liaison with team members to ensure holistic care for the PLHIV Plan activities along with project coordinator Recording and documentation- counselling formats and reports Facilitate the Support Group Meetings Exploring and developing Referral and linkages with the district level NGOs and other service providers MIS supervision & Psychosocial data capturing Coordination and implementation of overall psychosocial intervention Conduct social casework and group work and maintain proper recording Assess and formulate short term and long term intervention plans and its implementation along with the multi-disciplinary team Facilitate capacity building programmes for counsellors of other CCCs in Karnataka Desired Profile of the candidate: A master's degree in social work (MSW) from a reputed University/institute. Sound technical understanding of the HIV epidemic with special reference to care, support and treatment program. Thorough understanding of NACO guidelines on various components of HIV/AIDS interventions and OVC issues Should possess at least 1-2 years of experience in working with health related or HIV/AIDS projects Should have excellent interpersonal and communications skills, especially in Kannada, Hindi and English. Ability to work with a multidisciplinary team Ability to lead and motivate others, consultative and collaborative approach Ability to work and achieve results in challenging environment Adaptability and ability to cope with change, and, ability to turn challenges into opportunities and be creative and innovative. Should be passionate to work for the cause of HIV/AIDS, openness to work with the communities vulnerable to HIV.
