Guest guest
Tomorrow, I am going to take 90 meq of all klor con and skip the slow k to see if klor con just works better. Then, I will have to discuss this with the doctor. The other doctor who said it needs to be a 5 said that nobody needs more than 20meq--equivalent to 2 bananas. My chest pain is worse in the evening and I always test K in the morning when things are better and levels are around 3.6. I tested last Monday around 5pm but was feeling ok. I wasn't fasting and it had only been 5 hours since my last dose of K and my levels were 3.7 so I know that K drops out of range. Right now, I know that my level is out of range but I can't prove it!!It seems that when I'm under stress or lack of sleep, my potassium drops more. Stress dosing never helps with this. Sugar definitely lowers it too.Subject: Re: PotassiumTo: RT3_T3 Date: Monday, August 24, 2009, 7:23 PM I am taking Klor-con. If I was taking 30 meq my levels would be low also. I have not asked my naturopath that question yet, she is on maternity leave. I have heard others say 5 is good also but I have no proof of that. Can you tell your doctor you think you would feel better at a different level and ask that he give you a different prescription? Or go back to the doctor that circle your low number. It sounds like he knows what he is doing more so than the other.
