Guest guest
The funny thing is - people see the diet lies and believe them. IE -which is a truth - they'd never believe:) How great it would be if we could put out there our > own commercial for Intuitive Eating >
Guest guest
I had my annual physical last week and my doctor and I were discussing weight loss meds (out of MY curiosity - he wasn't even slightly suggesting them) and he mentioned that when Alli was a prescription drug instead of an OTC they used to call it " weight loss by diarhhea! " Ya just gotta be wary of a drug that comes with a warning for you to take extra clothes with you to work in case of " unexpected and sudden " bowel movements!!! > > I'm not only tired of the WW commercials but also the Alli ones. Guest guest
That sounds like a blog or something I read a while back. How awful and how extremely unheatlthy. One thing (of many) I wish people understood. So many of them claim they are losing weight for health. But being overweight isn't always unhealthy and being underweight isn't always health. But the things they do to be thin is almost always unhealthy. And no matter waht you look like - if you're not healthy you really have nothing. > > > > I'm not only tired of the WW commercials but also the Alli ones. Guest guest
Well said IV (as usual!) and what you said reminds me about a woman I work with who got bariatric surgery about 2 years ago. I would not have considered her even a candidate, but she bragged about how her doctor " fixed it " so she could get it done. Afterwards, yes, she lost a lot of weight and don't even get me STARTED on the fact that we still do not know the long-term effects of this surgery (in terms of the inability to absorb vital nutrients), but the thing that I always remember about this was her saying she had to have the surgery done because while she wasn't experiencing ANY symptoms or problems because of her weight at the time, she just " knew " she would down the road. When she said that it struck me as her just justifying why her apparently low self-esteem led her to butcher her insides, but reading what you wrote reminds me it also has a lot to do with what people THINK and are indoctrinated about what a " healthy " body must look like. How sad for us all.
