Guest guest
Dear Dr. B. B. Rewari, Re: /message/9411 Thanks for sharing with the forum NACO's plan for second line treat. Your reply states that " As a part of expansion, another three ART Centres in Mumbai were linked to JJ Hospital followed by linking patients from Nagpur, Sangli and Pune ART. We would be obliged if you share more details on the so called 'linking' plan of NACO. What are the strategies followed for linking and how it is done? This has been talked about from a long time by the Nagpur ART Centre which has been saying from March that it is exploring the feasibility of starting Link ARTÂ Centres in Nagpur District for first line ART. We are surprised that even second line treatment linking is established for Nagpur and as far as our knowledge goes, patients from Nagpur were refused second line treatment at JJ Hospital. Could you please clarify to the forum when this was started and what is the mechanism for access to the second line treatment at JJ Hospital according to the so called 'linking' concept? Dr. Rewari, AIDS IINDIA is a very effective forum from where we get lot of updates about the new initiatives and good practices in the field of HIV all over the country. It ignites our activism and makes us conscious about the happennings in other parts of the country. It also helps us to be in solidarity with all working for the cause. We would appreciate that any plans made by NACO in any program component should be shared in the forum so that we are aware of what NACO plans for the country. F.
