Hi I wanted to introduce myself. I have had MS for about 8 years now, probably

longer, and seem to be in the SPMS category. I did meds for a few years but

stopped and do natural now.

I am currently trying to decide on whether to buy a juicer that takes out the

pulp or a Vitamix-type machine that leaves in all the pulp/fiber etc. I hear

they both have pros and cons. I can't afford both. If anyone can make a

recommedation, thank you.

Personally, I leave the pulp in to preserve the vitamins, minerals and

fiber.

I bought a Vita-Mix. Without a doubt it is one of the best investments I have

ever made. To say I love it is an understatement. I use it at least once a day

(to make a smoothie for breakfast) and often I use it in the evening to make

soup.

In the morning, along with the strawberries or raspberries or grapes or

blackberries, I toss in raw beet, raw carrot, dark leafy greens, raw asparagus,

etc. Adding stevia, half an apple or a rib of celery sweetens it. Who would

have thought I would be happily eating raw vegetables for breakfast? I do not

use any recipes. I simply toss in whatever vegetables and frozen fruit I have.

Washing the container is easy; a cup or so of water plus one drop of dish soap

and turn it on. It washes itself.

A new machine is expensive, but a factory-reconditioned machine costs much less.

If you decide to get a Vita-Mix call the company and ask if they have any

factory reconditioned units available.

I used to be a raw foodie and Vita-Mix was the king of the hill in raw food

groups. I never read anything negative about it!

Opinion: Juicers reduce much good pulp to garbage. Blenders provide a more

nutritious drink. If you don't want to consume it, don't put it in the blender.

Many veggie skins and leaves provide great fiber and nutrition. Why would I

want to trash them?
