I was hospitalized last week for treatment of my third abdominal

abscess since my RNY surgery on 12/13/02. Doctors think I may have a

micro perforation in my plumbing that didn't show up on leak tests.

An intern asked me why I'd had the RNY. I explaineed that it was for

weight loss to which he replied; " Couldn't you have just eaten less? "

I was so shocked by the callousness and stupidity of his question

that I made some dumb reply. In hindsight, I should have smacked my

forehead with my open palm and said; " Holy sh_t doctor, why didn't I

think of that! " Where oh where are those witty retorts when you

really need them.
