Guest guest
I am experiencing severe numbness and tingling in abdomen, both legs and hands for about 6 days now. Does anyone ever get the IV of Solu-Medrol for is this something that you just ride out? I think the first time I experienced this it lasted a couple of weeks, but was not in both legs or abdomen. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Kelle
Guest guest
I didn't know I had MS when I first experienced numbness, tingling and pain and actually got rid of it with chiropractic work. It took about a year, but after having subscribed to the Dr.s all drugs treatment of MS, I'd suggest trying that first - along with the diet changes suggested here. I've done about 2 or 3 Solu. treatments... and really don't want to again! The steroids made me a little crazy (manic, moody, etc.) and where they did help some, it was only a small amount. Also have done some acupuncture in the last couple years too and it has relieve some of the 'fuzziness' left in my hands and feet, and helped 'stabilize' my legs far more than the steroids ever did. Good luck with your decision, it's a tough on to make. ~ > > I am experiencing severe numbness and tingling in abdomen, both legs and hands for about 6 days now. Guest guest
Kelle, Solu-Medrol is dangerous. In fact all the prednisone and prednisolone steroids are dangerous. I took prednisone off and on for years for asthma. It almost killed me. There is a little known side effect of prednisone and it's related steroids called Prednisone Induced Psychosis. It is HORRIBLE..and exactly what the name implies.. you go totally and completely psychotic because of the prednisone. I was released from the hospital on a medrol pack to treat a nasty asthma attack. Two days later I went back to work. That night I completely freaked out and went after my supervisor. I got lucky. He and I were friends and he knew I was taking Medrol for my asthma AND he was aware of this particular side effect. So, he called an ambulance and didn't press charges. It was a full week before I came out of it. That was roughly 20 years ago and to this day I STILL don't remember the incident. I only remember waking up in the hospital strapped to the bed with guards standing outside. My supervisor told me what happened and managed to convince his bosses that it really was a temporary medical condition so I didn't lose my job. Before that, prednisone and medrol always made me emotional to the point where I could not cope with anything or anybody while I was on it. But I'm, told that prednisone induced psychosis can happen in anybody even if they've never taken steroids before. I have never taken steroids again. And I won't. Outside of the emotional side effects Medrol and prednisone do more damage to your body than they help. Sure, you might feel better for a while, but it will wear off and then you are pretty much back where you started. Sometimes that takes a while, but it does happen. Interestingly enough.. when I stopped taking steroids for my asthma it improved dramatically. Better options include diet changes, supplements and herbs. I have secondary progressive ms and have stopped the progression and reversed symptoms using only diet, supplements, herbs and LDN It IS possible.
