Hi everyone, I just read intuitive eating a few weeks ago and became

intrigued as I am so tired of dieting. I am a homeschooling mom of two

girls. One is first grade and the other is fifth. Just being home all

day brings its own challenges but trying to distiguish bewteen real

hungry and an anxius stomach has been interesting. So any way I have

been eating or trying for about two weeks. I just weighed myself and I

havent lost any weight which is so surprising as I thought I had only

been eating when my body has asked me. I have to say that I have never

felt freer. Food doesnt carry the power that it once had for me. All

day it was a constant battle in my head. Can I have more, this isnt

good for me or I overate and I have no self control. It has been so

nice not to have so many arguments with myself about food!! I feel

freer than I have in a while. BUT, will I lose weight on this plan. I

dont want it to be all consuming but definitly it is a goal to be a

healthier weight. I need to lose about 70 pounds to be there and I am

ok with it taking time but I am wanting to know if eventually you shed

some excess weight. I am happy with my relationship with food so far

but I would still like to shed a few pounds. I would like reassurance

that eventually listening to my bodies needs I will get there. Would

love to her from you all. Thanks Norma

Norma as others have said I have found it depends on me and how committed I am every persons body is different and it will take some time for your body to get used to eating this way. I know it is a day to day struggle for me to fight the diet mentality that is on TV every dayespecially durring this month when everyone is recommitted to a diet. I think if you are committed and get great support from a wonderful group like this one you can lose weight. I weighed 167 when I first joined this group and started loosely following the plan without reading the books and when I went for my doctors check up in December I weighed 156 so it is all up to you. It will be a slow proccess and everyone's body and matabolisim is different so it all depends. I found a work out DVD I enjoy after 2 years of searching and I find that when I work out it relives my stress and makes me feel better. I don't think its important that you lose weight as much as knowing that your body is functioning better. EvaStart the year off right. Easy ways to stay in shape in the new year.

Welcome Janey so glad to have you with us I look forward to sharing this journey with you. Eva

Hello I’m Janey and I’m new! It’s lovely to meet you all. J I’m nearly 36 and after dieting for nearly 20 years of my life, a little over a year ago I discovered intuitive eating. Although I have had an initial 6 pound weight gain, I am now maintaining, and I am hoping that eventually I will lose some weight. I am aware that I do need to start moving my body so I shall have to think about what I would enjoy. Dieting and food obsession took over my life for too long. If I wasn’t on a diet then I was following a restrictive healthy eating plan living on raw vegetables. I’ve tried it all! As a vegetarian I am interested in healthy eating but that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy all foods as well. I need to find that balance and I am through intuitive eating.

Looking forward to chatting with you.
