Guest guest
How long did you do the valtrex? Did you try changing to another antiviral like famvir or zovirax? Can't comment on the amantadine - haven't done it. Cheryl~http://www.gryffins-tail.blogspot.com~@midian42~ DS has high measles titers. We did high dose Vit.A Protocol and he responded well to that(we are planning to repeat it after a few months). Currently he is on LDM. We also tried Immunovir and Valtrex but they didn't help him in any way. I am thinking about Amantadine next. Can this help with measles? And is this something that can be done by itself? I mean if I give Amantadine not in conjunction with Immunovir or anything else will it still be effective? Best regards, Arpita.
Guest guest
We did the Valtrex for 60 days. We didn't try famvir or zovirax. Do these help with measles? Are they supposed to be more effective than Amantadine? > > > DS has high measles titers. Guest guest
No, Valtrex, Famvir and Zovirax are all for the herpes family. Measles is not a herpes virus.. 60 days is not long enough for a trial of antivirals. If you have measles titers, odds are pretty good that it's not just measles you have an issue with. Guest guest
I have been taking Amantadine for 26 years and just know that if I don't take it, I get vertigo very badly. I take 2 capsules every morning and have been taking it for about 25 years. Katrina
