Guest guest
I know nothing about MacDougall and do not want to denigrate his story or experiences. However, I do feel that I need to point out that he is not the same person as Dr. McDougall about whom I posted earlier as an advocate and further developer of the Swank diet. They are two totally different people. Best of luck whatever diet oe regime you decide to follow. Hopefully one will work for you. Guest guest
I know he isn't the same person. I ran across this article and thought it might interest some who wanted to see another perspective. I agree more with than I do with , for myself anyway. More with the BBD than with Swank. Thanks for the well wishes. > > I know nothing about MacDougall and do not want to denigrate his story or experiences. Guest guest
I came across the McDougall story at the beginning of my MS journey and was impressed and immediately cut out wheat and dairy but sooner or later they'd creep back into my diet.I kept telling myself to be strict for 4 years, just 4 years as that is when he had started improving. So I started the BBD properly, with no straying. I thought it would be for 4 years but after that time I felt so much better (no, not " cured " ) that I decided to stick with the diet, probably for life. It is not a diet for me, it is a way of eating. It is brilliant for those of us in wheelchairs with limited access to exercise as it cuts out the sugars and fats that are so detrimental to health. He is my inspiration.Janet To: mscured From: alpdesigns1@... Guest guest
Mine too! When my new Neurologist/Nutritionist prescribed the same type of diet, I had high hopes. I started doing what he said and the swelling in my feet disappeared and my eyebrows grew back. I'm sold! I still have a long way to go but I'm getting there!
