Guest guest
Today for lunch I had a peanut butter and banana sandwich grilled w/butter on 7 grain bread, a strawberry yogurt (sf farms), and some coffee. Really hit the spot. I ate it all except the crust of my sandwich. In dieting days, I wouldn't have eaten such dense bread, non-light yogurt, and would have made sure to eat some carrots and celery or an apple on the side (whether or not I was craving fruits or veggies). I would have eaten the crust first and saved the best for last. Funny isn't it? Had I eaten the crust, I wouldn't have had room to enjoy the best part of the sandwich. So, did you eat anything particularly yummy today? Anything that would have been forbidden in dieting days? Did it satisfy??
Guest guest
Okay, go ahead and call me crazy, but it was RAMEN NOODLES! I can't help it, I love the things! In dieting days they would be banned as total waste of calories, probably still are in fact a total waste, but I LOVE them. Cooked some last night to have with a piece of grilled salmon. YUM-ME! I think this goes back to my college days when I lived off Ramen Noodles and created about 7 zillion different ways to serve them, to convince myself they weren't just 12 cents a bag noodles! You'd think after surviving on them in college I'd hate them now, but nope.. just adore them. Could eat 'em for breakfast lunch and dinner. Mmmmmmmmm ... ramennnnnn ... <little drool> Love a noodle in any form, but good ramen (usually done with chicken stock/pieces, and a few drops of sesame oil for flavour) I will never get sick of. Lately I've been a little addicted to couscous (flavoured with Moroccan spices and sunflower seeds) - SOOO easy (just add boiling water and a little butter), so quick, so yum. A year ago I would never have had it (not pure and wholefoody enough!!! too many carbs!!!) but now I just enjoy it any time. And if that time is midnight when I'm up watching TV late and my tummy's rumbling - well so be it. S
