Guest guest
so what is different about this new meter. Prodigy Voice meter Hello to all on list, Claude has found one of only two places who are doing an early unofficial release on the Prodigy Voice meters. The other place is Home Care of America at 1-. The only thing is that this early release will not have an audible format of the meter's manual only print. In the meantime, I can help anyone who has questions and when we have the final version of the manual in Word format, I can forward that to you. For others who want the audible format after purchasing the meter without the audible manual, you can contact DDI afterwards and obtain a copy when it is ready. Please do not hesitate to ask me for help with your new Prodigy Voice meter. Ruth

Guest guest
Great news Ruth! In another message you mentioned the meter is u-shaped. What in the world is that all about? And, I'm hoping this meter no longer goes through all the musical gyrations and silly " Welcome to Prodigy... " nonsense!! Thanks for volunteering your help and for passing this information to all of us. Guest guest
Hi Dave, The U shape just accomodated all the computer stuff better. It is still small though but slightly bigger. Yes, it still does play the music. The music is good because it is an audible clue to let you know it is on and to give you time to to get your finger poked. One thing I forgot to mention, is that error messages are spoken too with the Voice meter. As for the help, you’re welcome and no problem! Guest guest
Well, maybe I'm alone in this, but I've come to hate the starting up noise the original meter makes. I still use another meter, including when my wife and I go somewhere, and I can't imagine using the Prodigy meter with all it's verbosity in public! It would have been nice to offer an optional setting where verbosity could be decreased. A beep to signify it's on, another to indicate the blood can be placed on the strip work just great for me. I have to think others may feel this way too. When you use a meter 8 plus times a day, all the verbosity the Prodigy meter puts out gets very old. All we really need or want is the ability to repeat a reading, play back the history of readings, and change settings. As someone in the movies or TV used to say, " just the facts mam, just the facts. " Ruth, this isn't against you so please don't take offense. I just wish the folks who design these meters asked me about it!! lol Dave Prodigy Voice meter Hello to all on list, Claude has found one of only two places who are doing an early unofficial release on the Prodigy Voice meters. Guest guest
Hi Dave, You can turn down the volume or turn the voice off but that defeats the purpose. However, the Voice meter does have an earjack so you can keep privacy in public. And don't worry, no offense taken. Guest guest
Hi , Try phoning Home Care of America 1-. If there are any problems let me know and I'll help you with getting your Prodigy Voice meter. As for your insurance if you have a prescription I'd imagine it should be covered no matter what. I'm from Canada, so don't know exactly how your insurance works, but I'm sure someone else on the list can help you with that.
