PROBLEM The Govt. Hospital Sangli and Medical college miraj is giving the medical treament jointly in the hospital that is based at Sangli city since 1960. On the 2nd Dec. 2008 the health ministry ordered to devide the Sangli Govt. hospital and Miraj medical college. due to the order all the medical officers and staff were shifted from Sangli Govt. Hospital to Miraj Medical College's newly sanctioned 500 beded hospital at Miraj. Due to shifting the hospital from Sangli to Miraj all the services of the Sangli Govt. hospital were collapsed and 13 paitient were died due to non giving the treament. the ART Center was to be also in plan to shift at Miraj. Though the ART center was at Sangli, other all relavent services like investigation,treaments, wards were closed. MARCH OF POSITIVE PEOPLE With the demand 1. stop the shifting Sangli Govt. Hospital from Sangli to Miraj 2. Do not devide Miraj Medical college and Sangli Govt. hospital On 22nd of the Dec. around 1000 HIV positive people came on the road against the order of the health ministry under the banner of aamhich aamache sanstha sangli. the march was arranged and openly we positive people said we are positive and save our life. FASTING for 22nd and 23rd Dec. 2008 two days fasting was done by the 10 postive people including eight on ART patient. the support from various groups, leaders, political parties were given for this advocacy. CONCLUSION on 23rd Dec. 2008 6.00 p.m. in the Lesistation assembly at nagpur maharasthra has cancled the order of the shifting and also the decesion was taken to keep the Govt. Hospital Sangli and Miraj Medical College jointly. now all the shifted staff has come on previous places.
