Guest guest
About ten years ago, my husband (then boyfriend) joined a nudist club. My reasons for doing it actually had to do with IE, although I'd never heard of IE at the time. In other words, the reason I joined a club where everyone walked around naked was so that I could get over my own body image issues. And you know what? It worked! We spent a weekend there, and everyone was naked! Naked tennis, naked hiking, even naked dinner at the spaghetti restaurant (where did we put our napkins??) While browsing at the naked bookstore, I realized the vast differences in human bodies. Sure, there were some "hotties" there. But there were also mastectomied grandmas, beautiful little children running free and loving themselves, saggy bodies, cellulite bodies... I saw SO clearly how the body we have is just the wrapping for the soul. Alas, winter came, and I no longer desired to be naked. Plus, we moved a fair distance away, and so I let my membership go. While it would be years until I would actually work on my relationship with food, that summer at the nudist camp was one of the most eye-opening experiences of my life (so to speak).
