Thank you Arnando for posting this Product Evaluationarticle, which compares

both the SensoCard Plus and the new Prodigy Voice meters.

However, I did notice one slight error in this article, relating to the company

that are distributing the SensoCard Plus blood monitor.

In the article, they clame that BBI should be applauded for their efforts in

making accessible blood glucose meters and seeking input from many people who

are blind or have low vision who will

use the meters, as well as those from the RNIB themselves.

As many of you will know who have been on this list for some while. I was

involved with the trials of the SensoCard Plus blood monitor before it was

released

on the British market. In fact, credit should be really given to Bill

Cunningham's company, CDx Ltd, who originally had the sight and vision to carry

out the hard work in obtaining a talking blood monitor for blind diabetics in

Brittain, but also, getting the company involved in Hungary to manufacture

the SensoCard Plus meter that we have today.

BBI only got involved with this product, due to ill health of Bill Cunningham's

wife, and sold on his company to them. I am pleased to say however, she

is a lot better now.

I had the opertunity to speak with Bill on the phone the other day, and I asked

him on behalf of this group, if he was going back into diagnostics again,

and if so, would he be prepared to look into the possibility in manufacturing a

talking pump. He said he would give it some serious thought.

If I receive any further news on that front from Bill, I will come back to this

list and let you all know.

thanks for posting. The info sounds promising, but hopefully before the talking

insulin pump becomes a reality, the US FDA will be scrapped and reformed ,

without the lobbiests and the drug companies corrupting the process.
