Guest guest
At age 92, Leo Fiyalko did what most golfers only dream about doing - he hit a hole-in-one. Too bad he didn't get to see it. Fiyalko, who suffers from macular degeneration, is legally blind and had no idea he'd aced the 110-yard, fifth hole at Cove Cay County Club in Clearwater, Fla. until he heard cheering. " I was just trying to put the ball on the green, " Fiyalko said. Fiyalko's wife, Pat, said her hubby isn't kidding. " If you're talking to him, he can't see your face, " Pat Fiyalko, 83, said. " He knows where the [golf] greens are because he began playing here before his eyes started going, so he aims for them. " Fiyalko, who began golfing when he moved down to Florida from Ohio in the 1950's, said, " How about that " when he defied 12,000-to-1 odds and made the shot on Jan. 10. If it were up to Fiyalko, his amazing shot would have remained a family secret — just like the other hole-in-one he made years ago, his wife said. " The first one he made was outside play, so it didn't really count, " Pat Fiyalko said. " It was a while back, I can't remember
