Guest guest
I'm also a big fan of Chunyi Lin. I've heard him speak on several online interviews, as well as some of his CDs and DVDs. He says that many (possibly all) of the exercises can be done sitting or lying down. His book " Born a Healer " is an inspiring story of his own early life in China (during the hell of the Cultural Revolution), as well as stories of people whose health problems have been helped by practicing Qi Gong. I have only a little experience with his exercises. I cannot stand up nearly as long as he does on the video, so I moldify the exercises for sitting. Also, I'm a little confused about his version of " Qi Gong breathing, " where you pull the stomach IN when inhaling, which is the opposite of other Qi Gong teachers, such as Ken Cohen and Bill s. Tai Chi is related to Qi Gong (is actually a moving form of it), and has been shown to help many people with poor balance. There are many videos available. Betty Iams recommends a good video, I think it's called " Tai Chi for Seniors. " You asked about other forms of energy medicine. I immediately thought of Donna Eden, author of " Energy Medicine, " which I highly recommend. She had MS herself, with symptoms starting at age 16. By the time she was 29 she was rather incapacitated, (doctors told her she probably did not have long to live), and subsequently used methods that she developed (based on what she learned elsewhere plus her own ideas) to heal herself. She's 68 now and looks very healthy, is totally mobile, etc. She has a website, and there are numerous videos on You Tube as well. http://www.innersource.net/em/ I have seen small improvements in overall energy by practicing her " 5 minute energy routine " for a little while. Like Chunyi Lin, she is very pleasant to listen to, because of her positive attitude, sense of humor, and she really has " heart. " I'm a big fan. She says MS is related to problems with the spleen meridian being too weak, and usually triple warmer being overly strong. Also, people with MS don't have their energies sufficiently crossing over, and are stuck in " homolateral, " and she has simple exercises to help with this. BTW, I had venoplasty for CCSVI in January. I've had no truly great improvements thus far, except for bladder function, which is 75-80% better. I still have big issues with balance, and a weak right leg, which makes walking difficult. But the bladder improvements are still very nice! Alice > > My latest healing quest is leading me in the direction of qigong. I'm particularly impressed by Chunyi Lin, who founded Spring Forest Qigong (http://www.springforestqigong.com/), and whose efforts are supported by many compelling testimonials. I'd be interested and grateful if anyone would care to share their experience with qigong--or energy medicine in general. > > Also, I'm going to give Prokarin a try. I've spoken with Dr. Woeller (nice guy!) and should receive my first shipment this week. > > >
