Guest guest
Dear Forum, Intensive sensitization programme on PPTCT ( ITCT) was conducted for the Govt. Medical Officers of Muzaffarpur and Patna District. The programme was organised by MAMTA ( Delhi Based NGO ) in collaboration with their local network partners with grants from American India Foundation (AIF). We from RATNEI, IHO also participated and fecilitated the programme. Doctor's list were provided by the respective Civil Surgeon. Regional Deputy Director, Tirhut, Dr Narayan Pandit and Civil Surgeon, Muzaffarpur, Dr Biltu Paswan were very appreciative of this kind of training programme. I believe that more such type of trainings and refresher trainings are needed to make MO's aware about the programme and integration of Safe Motherhood programme with PPTCT programme as the existing knowledge level was far beyond satisfactory- may be due to various reasons like overoccupation with other programmes/ administrative work like Polio or lack of opportunity to upgrade their knowledge base for existing HIV AIDS programme.
