Guest guest
All this mention of bread made me make my favorite today - Poppy Seed Walnut. I use a bread machine and its made with whole wheat flour and molasses for light sweetening. Here's the recipe for those who want to give it a try - (its wonderful with cream cheese too!) Bread, Poppyseed Walnut BAKE : 400 degrees - 25 minutes Pour into dough bucket- 2 Tablespoons oil (coats measuring spoon) 3 Tablespoons molasses 1 3/4 cup water (warm - pour over measuring spoon) Measure, mix and add to dough bucket - 3 cups whole wheat flour 2 cups bread flour 3 Tablespoons powdered milk 2 teaspoons salt 2 teaspoons yeast 1 sm. tablet Vitamin C - crushed Set bread machine to 2 (large/dark loaf) and start. Set timer to 30 minutes. At beep add - 2/3 cup walnuts (halves best) 2 Tablespoon poppyseed Let machine finish thru baking OR set timer for [30ish minutes] after 'punch down', place dough in greased loaf pan for final raising and bake at 400 degrees for 25 minutes. Guest guest
one of the things I'm finding works very well with IE is another list I'm on that gives recipes for slow-cookers. Those cooks are mostly not concerned with weight, only with making scrumptuous, good food. Healthy is sometimes considered. Anyway, it's a really fun complement to thinking about all foods -- a full palette! Thanks too, Katcha, for the recipe. Thank you so much for the recipe! My bread machine broke over Christmas and I am supposed to be getting a new one next week...can't wait to try your bread in it!
