Hi everyone,

I just found out that u can use Diabetic strips for spinal fluid leaks.

I have been using them because my back is leaking and my incision has busted

open again. But U can use these.

Chiari 1 Decompression march 28 '98 and reconstruction march 6 '01

do you just follow the normal instructions on the bottle ? and what

consentration /strength glucose level does it show ?

and all... Im really glad to hear of this... I have and had a problem

int he past leaking from my nose.

I knew there had to be some way to tell with those strips, I just could never

get anyone to tell me anything.

Now I want to ask... would regular mucus " snot " LOL have glucose in it?? Im

guessing not.. I just want to make sure before I go testing myself. I have

been leaking from the nose again. I really dont want to tel my doc unless Im

pretty sure it is csf.

I know the first thing he is going to want to do is a cisternogram... dont

know what this is, and never had it, but.. he wanted to do it last time I was

leaking..

Thats when I got fed up with being poked and proded and being told this and

then it changing... I was admited to the hospital, then next day I ripped my

own I.V out and told my Mom and husband to come get me before I talked ot

anyone... LOL

I was a mess that day...lol
