Hi all

I was diagnosed with MS about 6 weeks ago. I have just come back from the

doctors with a printout of some blood tests I requested and wondered if anybody

could shine any light on them for me?

I won't put them all down, just the one's I am interested in or seem to be lower

or higher in the ranges.

Monocyte count - 0.26 10*9/L

Basophil count - 0.01 10*9/L

Eosinophil count - 0.16 10*9/L

Platelet count - 165 10*9/L

Serum creatinine - 53 umol/L

Serum urea level - 3.5 mmol/L

Serum albumin - 52 g/l (this is marked as high but G.P old me it was fine)

Serum total bilirubin level - 5 umol/L

Total alkaline phosphatase - 43 u/L

Serum glucose level - 5.4 mmol/L

Serum calcium 2.10 mmol/L

Serum Vitamin D - 88 nmol/L

Serum ferritin - 69 ug/L

Serum vitamin B12 - 376 ng/L

Serum folate - 7.6

The G.P told me my results say I'm fit as a fiddle but I wondered why then the

top of each print out read - tell patient satisfactory or normal etc. I just

want to make sure I'm doing everything right and getting enough of things that I

need after being diagnosed with MS. Any information would be appreciated

Thank you

Before you start down the dead-end path of MS, I suggest you investigate the

possibility that you have Lyme Disease. It could save you much misery, as well

as lots of $$.

HI, if you def have MS and not Lyme disease, I would suggest you to read about

LDN (low dose naltrexone), discuss with ur docs and start taking it as soon as

possible. Wish you good luck and all the best, Orsi

Thank you, I am being referred to a different neurologist so will make a point

of asking when I have my first appointment. How do they go about testing it?

It's a blood test.

IgeneX lab is in N CA, and has been doing LD tests for several yrs. I

had mine done by them.

Recently, others in these Yahoo groups, e.g., [lymestrategies], have

used SpiroStat.com, and given favorable reviews.

We all paint our own pictures (stories)

I have been diagnosed TWICE with MS.

Feel that the MS drug Rebif is why I am in sch horrible shape.

Hired an out of state Lye Literate Medical Doctor (LLMD) and was diagnosed with

Lyme Disease and 6 co-infections.

Not all Lyme Docs are good at treating this terribly complex disease. I am up

to LLMD #3 now.

The standard Lyme test our physicians use is terribly inaccurate!

The longer we have been sick, the less reliable ANY of the tests are.
