I could not do my job without The Little Blue Book. I have them for the

immediate cities surrounding me. I often find doctors in there that are

not in the hospital database, The Medical Society Directory, or the

phone directory.

I vaguely remember that there was a web page for ordering this on the

internet. Do you happen to know what it is?

Thank you to all who responded to my question re The Little Blue Book.

When I finally got time to look at it I saw there was also a little

Yellow book with fax numbers of doctors. A few weeks ago someone was

looking for that. I went up to my former employer today and got a sample

of the Little Blue Book and will bring it to my present doctor and share

it with her. I noticed she was not listed on the web page and when I told

her she wanted to know why and how she could get on. So now I have all

she needs plus the web page. It does give quite a bit of information,

though it is not that easy to get through it. However, it may save me

from buying it. Again, according to the last year's she can buy them for

her office a lot cheaper than if I bought it so I may have her buy me one

and I will pay for it.

Again, thank you. That WEB site has really grown since I first saw it a

couple of years ago.

Hi Alice, I just moved into a 3 " binder because I'm getting just a

collection of printouts from places I come across on the net with

listings of links or books etc. I know there is a dot com for the little

blue book to use online (www.thelittlebluebook.com/main.htm) for looking

up doc's names and addresses. I haven't found the page of links for

buying it but www.medword.com/medbooks has a long list of books, and

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/MedTrans/files and

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/MedTrans/links has a ton of good stuff to

look through. You might need to be a member of MedTrans MT site to reach

these places I'm not sure I'm on net burnout right now. The last 48 hrs

my ISP mail server went down and I now have a 24 hr gap in my email list

and earlier the night this started I was forced to call a tech to delete

the first 120/300 so I could finish downloading because it was so

sluggish and he ended up trigger happy and deleted them all but the first

54 that I already had. So I lost 180 email that came in between 2pm and

11pm EST forever. I have no idea if anyone tried to get ahold of me for

help or if there was anyone out there I could've helped (I'm usually up

very late, it's hard to get to sleep with a broken back that healed very

badly. Ya just can't seem to find that comfortable spot). Onward to

other email they have me so behind it isn't funny. If it wasn't for the

local dial up I would change ISP's I use our local Alltel phone co. Hope

this helps some. Tam. : ). PS if I do find the specific place that had it

to order I'll let you know asap unless you already found it.

Yeah, but if you are working with a doctor, don't you think they should

get one for you if needed?

Yep. ;)

Or we should at least charge for the research. It should probably be addressed

in the beginning of

the relationship (as someone else mentioned recently). I think the cost of this

should be built

into our standard fee or should be an additional charge, whichever seems

appropriate. The cost,

though, should be recovered. We will never be taken seriously if we don't

charge for our services

as any professional would do.

How many professional men to do you know who give away their services? Aside

from acknowledged

charitable work, that is...
