Hey gang...we haven't forgot about you. I have been

watching and reading and still learning and praying for

all thoses that are facing tribulations. Here is an

update on Sara, my wife.

Sara is 1 month, 2 days postop and doing real good.

That’s more than we thot was accomplished immediately

after surgery.

She was in the hospital for 9 days. The first 6 days

she was in much pain, they never did get the pain under

control (even with me calling for the nurse for a pain

shot).

The surgery or the intubation caused her to lose the

ability to swallow. She would choke on her own saliva

because it would go down her windpipe. Didn’t allow her

to have ice chips. She still had the bad headaches and

cough (caused by the choking). At first we thot the

surgery was for naught.

On about the 6 th day a feeding tube was inserted

through the nose. By the 5th day she was able to get up

to the restroom ,with help of course. About the 8th

day, a feeding tube was inserted in the stomach and the

nose tube removed. ON the 9th day she was discharged

and went to her mothers, which is near the hospital.

After about a week there, she went back to the surgeon

for a checkup and the stitches, yes stitches, removed.

Is she a “zipperhead”? During that week, she had home

health nurse visits and began physical and throat

therapy.

She then went home to continue resting and recuperate.

After the 3rd week, she began to show improvements. Her

balance began to return, the swallowing began to return

thus less coughing, no headaches, no sneezing and she

believes the double vision may be improving.

At this time she is walking without holding on to me or

reaching for the wall or furniture even tho it may be

for short distances. She is now taking some soft food

my mouth such as jello, pudding, mashed potatoes. Her

first visits to therapists here at home indicated she

may not have to continue the therapy visits for very

long. Next visit to nsg is June 14th. Hopefully by

then the stomach feeding tube can be removed.

She has been bathed in prayer by you and many Believers

around this country. Surely God has had a big hand in

her recovery.

Thanks for all your care and concern.
