Guest guest
The most widely prescribed drug for treating MS has little or no effect on a patient's progression to disability. Helen Tremlett, an associate professor of neurology at the University of British Columbia, cautioned that the study does not show that interferon beta is useless. However, Dr. A. Hafler, chairman of the neurology department at Yale said, " If interferon does have an effect on disability, then it's a relatively small effect. " Relapses and brain lesions do not, apparently, drive disability, Dr. Tremlett said. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/07/18/health/research/multiple-sclerosis-drug-doesnt\ -stop-disability-study-finds.html?_r=1 & adxnnl=1 & adxnnlx=1343138713-ur9vuBcBZiiJ6\ uWuC0TVlA KC
