Guest guest
Wow, if I had known that about the mini pill. I never would have taken it. I was just told that it was the same as the other pill just with out the estrogen. I'm glad it didn't work for me and I wasn't on it for even a month. Next time I will make sure I ask more questions about the pill if I ever use them again. Somer

Guest guest
Hi everyone, I introduced myself before, MArie, but I had asked a question and REALLY want to know the answer. forgive me if it is on my digest of the group (before I changed over). BUt it is about the baggy skin, my mom is seriously baggy, she did not have this exact surgery but not called the same thing. She said one Dr. said a year later- " most of these include the extra skin removal in the price " . Hers did not. Does anyone have experience/problems...I keep thinking at 31 I should still have some elasticity left in this skin but with rapid loss I worry some. Would appriciate any news, and if it is a snesitive issue you could private e-mail me. This is a major concern for me even considering it. Thanks, MArie

Guest guest
Marie- The younger you are and the more you exercise, the less problem you will have with saggy skin. I lost 150 lbs about 12 years ago on the Rice Diet and I exercised all the time and had very little sagging. I expect the same this time. At any rate, you don't want to worry about it until much further down the road. Give yourself some time to see what happens. Exercise is the key. Guest guest
I'm starting to notice the baggy skin and I'm only half way to my goal. It's especially bad under my arms. I know that a lot of people choose to have plastic surgery to remove the excess skin. I'm 37 and hope, like you, that my skin won't look too awful, but even if it does....I had this surgery primarily for the health benefits and so I'd rather live long and happily with flabby underarms than die you'd with 150 pounds of excess fat. Everyone is different. You'll just have to wait and see how you do. I would think that toning exercises couldn't hurt tho'. Anyway....these are just my .02 worth. Take care. Guest guest
0 : : : : : : loose skin Fat --------------- (scale) hmmm....I don't know, for some reason I am being vain! I see my mom, she says she looks like an anorexic plucked chicken! LOL, we roll laughing-she has a great sense of humor of herself. But health wise I KNOW you all are right about the skin thing. You know, I have this other delima, I know it will be at least a year before I can really do this. I am currantly fighting a blood clot in my leg from inactivity due to my re-ruptured disk....so as I lay in bed this morning I think. Ok, I have a year...do I try (really, honestly try) to do some heallthy eating, and mild excersize, and lets say that works I lose 40 to 50lbs. and then in 5 yrs. I gain it back..then I will be 37 and have my weight back plus more most likely and back where I started-I almost want to just wait and go for this I look in the mirror and wonder that my size 22 is morbidly obese (by medical standards) I don't think I eat out of control on a regular bases, and yet I have always been heavier than a normal (whoever that is)person. Not huge just " big boned " Why don't I feel like I should be able to do this for me? I am on a rollercoaster of emotion and hope and fright! I really admire you all making your desicions, whatever they were. I just feel like someone is dangling a $100 bill out there and going to tug it away at any moment. Keep me on earth you guys!! Guest guest
Aren't we all going through that same dilemma? Be it a week, a month, or a year...we wonder " do I try the old way AGAIN? Have I done all I can do? Maybe I'm just not trying hard enough. Maybe I don't have enough willpower. " How many times have we played out this scenario, done the diet/exercise/pill routine, and wound up worse off in the long run? I think to myself, what if I was looking at at least a year definitely before I could have this surgery, what would I do? I would probably live the way I've been living, and if I made any changes it would be to incorporate exercise into my lifestyle and try to cut out foods that are really bad for my health (i.e. junk foods). If I lose weight doing this, great, I'll feel better at least for the time being and I don't have the danger of undergoing the surgery. If I regain it somewhere down the line, at least, hopefully, I wouldn't have to wait another year before being able to have the surgery. My feeling is, we have to draw the line somewhere. Of course there's that scarce possibility that my body will change when I turn 30 (or 40), and I'll lose weight. But what damage will I have caused my health in the meantime? It's a very tough decision. Do I have the surgery or not? Maybe this new eating plan will work this time. Maybe this and maybe that. For me, personally, I've had enough. I've spent 22 of my 27 years being fat and not myself. I've spent 19 of my 27 years trying every way possible to lose weight and keep it off. I cannot begin to add up the physical and emotional costs I have endured directly caused by my weight. I've spent most of my life fighting against the words of my 3rd grade PE coach (a man) who told me " that fat body makes such a pretty face go to waste, when are you going to do something about it. " I'm tired of crying myself to sleep and wondering " why me? " I'm tired of it all! Hon, only you can make the decision that you can live with. But once you make that decision, stick with it all the way through! We've got to reach the other side, one way or the other...surgery or no surgery. Let's not let society tell us we just aren't good enough! The OB did not want to attempt resecting my septum, which ran the full length of the uterus. I don' think you really need referrals to reproductive docs half the time, even with HMOs. You cuold always interview some likely candidates . . . ask them how many resections they've done, whatmethods, what results, etc. Good luck!
