Guest guest
Dear Colleagues, We commemorate December 1st as World AIDS Day and re-iterate our resolve to unite in the fight against HIV. The theme for this year's World AIDS Day is Leadership under the slogan “Stop AIDS, Keep the Promise. (http://www.worldaidscampaign.org/en/Media2/Files/wad-theme-2007-and-2008). World AIDS Day Commemorations 2008 (www.worldaidsday.org.in) is a participatory space, where organizers can directly provide details of the event they are organizing. You will be happy to know that to encourage commemorations in remote areas, we have designed the site to aggregate and display events even at the block level. This initiative will help us in: Learning from each other Publicity, for greater participation Providing opportunities for adding more value to the event and clubbing of activities for greater impact Identifying areas of low activity to plan interventions and a bigger mobilization in future We request you to kindly upload details of events or activities that you are planning or will be involved in on World AIDS Day. After the activity is over, please post photos, brief reports on your commemoration. When uploading photos, kindly remember to include captions. UNAIDS, though the NGO Gateway (www.nogateway.org ), will felicitate the best entries and photographs and with your permission, include some of them in publications and publicity materials, with due credits. We look forward to campaigning with you in a strengthened response to the epidemic. With best regards, Ranjan Ranjan Dwivedi, Civil Society Partnerships, UNAIDS India Office, A2/35 Safdarjung Enclave, New Delhi, India-110029.
