Hi All,

It's been a long time since I posted anything on here, but as some of you

may recall, I had written a few guidebooks to assist with various facets of

training in my department. So far, I've written guidebooks to assist dispatcher

trainees with understanding what is expected of them in training, and for patrol

trainees and citizens' patrol members with the dynamics of using the radios. I

have two other guidebooks that are in the planning stages, one of which is

designed to assist new firefighters with understanding the dynamics of the

radio, and the other is desgined to assist communications trainers with various

facets of training new dispatchers.

I am about to start work on the guidebook to assist the trainers. Since

many of you on this list are trainers in your own departments, I am writing to

see if I might solicit any of your training wisdom that you use to help people

through the process. Let me stress that this guidebook will serve to offer

suggestions to the trainer for training new dispatchers rather than a " How To

Train " manual.

Any assistance you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
