Guest guest
Hey ; You can seek a warrant for violation of MCL 750.540e... I love that one... -- M. Hutchinson http://www.lookatyourpictures.com http://www.icantakecreditcards.com http://www.callmy800number.com Grand Rapids, Michigan --- 911:: Abuse of the 911 system Date: Mon, August 07, 2006 7:36 am To: 911console I've tried searching the archives to find the answer to my own question, but I'm not having much luck. For you Michigan dispatchers...any idea what the name of the law is that is used to prosecute people for abuse of the 911 system? For the last two days this woman has been calling almost non-stop because her son stole her music CD. She's been threatening me (mostly because I'm in the first phone answering position right now) with lawsuits because I told her to quit calling unless it was a life threatening emergency. She's made false accusations against the police officer that went to help her...that he pushed her off the porch..anyway, I digress. I've given her fair warning, and if she continues, I'm going to pursue charges against her. When she accounts for 50% of our call volume between 4am and 8 am, it's ridiculous. in Michigan *who is working OT and not happy about it*

Guest guest
Here in Iowa we have a Harassment of a Public official charge. If your state has this (type) law it may apply. Ours is a simple misdemeanor, IIRC. I've tried searching the archives to find the answer to my own question, but I'm not having much luck.
