Guest guest Posted December 3, 2008 Report Share Posted December 3, 2008 Remembering people who passed away and renewing the hopes Flames of Hope - A candle light memorial by women living with HIV Evening of World AIDS Day (December 1, 2008) saw the single largest gathering of women living with HIV (150) from various states of India light candles to remember their friends with HIV who passed away. The candle light vigil was observed in the backdrop of a 10 year journey which focused on the growth of the movement of women living with HIV from 1998 -2008. The flickering flames of candle lit faces of women leaders and set the perfect moment to renew hope, spirit, leadership, activism and commitment in ensuring support for women living with HIV. There were also various friends of PWN+ from UNICEF, UNFPA, CFAR(Center For Advocacy Research), International Community of Women living with HIV(ICW) , Cambodia network of women living with HIV, EngenderHealth, Actionaid, who showed their solidarity to women living with HIV in realizing PWN+’s vision of …………..’.
