Guest guest
I gained a ton of weight when they started treating Graves. I guess the common practice is to make you hypo as fast as possible. That makes no sense to me now - I feel as miserable hypo as I did hyper. When I was really hyper I ate ALL the time. I always craved sugar, sugar, sugar. I think that was my body's way of maintaining some energy because the Graves just zapped me. I tried Atkins, but as so many people have noted, even if you lose wieght at first, the minute you eat bread, it comes right back on. So now I'm adjusting my medication to try to find a better balance and doing the eating right and exercising thing (boring, but it does work eventaully). Good luck! I know how frustrating it is.
