Guest guest
I'm not familiar with the particulars of the Atkins diet, nor am I familiar with " sugar busters " When I found out I was allergic to dairy, eggs, and wheat, I used it as an excuse to completely change my diet. I eat rice, vegetables, olive oil, fresh salads, seafood and chicken. I have no butter, bread, cheese, etc or processed foods of any kind in my diet. I still get carbs, although not as many as normal I guess, I still get fat, from cooking with olive oil and chicken stock. I have gone from 139# to 128# (I'm 5'4 " ) in three months, my muscle tone is coming back and I feel great! I realize that no sugar, processed food or dairy is unrealistic for some, and also that many may not need such an extreme diet, BUT, I do believe that this diet has improved my health in more ways than not. My " bad " Cholesterol is down to 50! When I had to cut out dairy and stuff, I had NO IDEA just how much I was eating, without giving it a second thought, I don't mean to go on, but this has really changed my life, along with getting my GD treated, I am slimming down and getting my muscle back. I do take supplements, but you need those anyway if you're eating processed foods and sugar, if you drink coffee, or are approaching menopause. It's something to think about. I hope some of you find it helpful to know how much paying the strictest of attention to my diet has done for me. SOmetimes it's a pain in the you know what, other times I long for pizza or cheesy mexican food. BUT another great thing is that I almost never eat out and this has saved my husband and I a lot of money. okay doke, I'll stop my mid morning rambling now Val
